ASC Internship Opportunities:

 

Internships requirements and expectations:

The purpose of this internship program, sponsored by Synergy Forum, Inc., is to prepare students for work in the highly competitive fields of museums and performing arts. Three $1000 internships are available. The three areas of work are: Education, Collections and Exhibitions, and, Performing Arts.

 

Interns must be currently enrolled, or a 2013 graduate of, UAPB or SEARK. All majors are welcome. Three references are required and volunteer experience is preferred. Interns will be expected to maintain a strict schedule and arrive at work on time and in business attire. Interns will sign a contract outlining job expectations and must fulfill all criteria on a weekly basis or they will be eliminated from the program.

Collections and Exhibitions Intern will assist the Curator of Collections and Exhibitions with two primary tasks:  data and reports for the permanent records and re-housing collections records into archival materials. Additionally, the collections intern would assist the Curator as necessary with installing and de-installing exhibitions, inventorying collections, completing condition reports, collections or exhibitions-related research as the need arises and other duties as assigned.

 

Education Intern will assist educator with tour development and delivery, hands-on daily activities in the galleries, summer camps, and Arts & Science Saturdays. Inventory and distribute education supplies; monitor arrival and departure of group tours, camp students, and workshop attendees; assist camp teachers as needed. Maintain and monitor Tinkering Studio for drop in activities and other duties as assigned.

 

Performing Arts Intern will assist the summer musical director and assistant director through pre-production  planning, rehearsals, technical aspects, and stage management of Oliver! Intern will also assist with the pre-performance panel discussion, theatre camp and other duties as assigned.
